- Experience: As a doula I attended my first birth in 2004 and have attended over 40 births since then. As a childbirth educator I began teaching classes in January of 2006 and I currently have over 600 hours of teaching experience and have prepared 500+ families for birth! In 2007 I was fortunate to spend 6 weeks apprenticing with a very busy and experienced midwife.
- My Birth Experiences: My first birth was a birth center transfer to hospital and mostly natural (I had IV narcotics). I had two first trimester miscarriages, unattended at home. My last birth was a midwife attended home birth using Hypnobabies hypnosis for birth with Serena as our doula.

- My Birth Experiences: My first two births were birth center water births attended by midwives. My last birth was a home birth, unexpectedly attended by our midwive's apprentice because baby was in a hurry, Emily was our doula.
- On a Personal Note: When I am not teaching, attending or giving birth, I enjoy the humor of my children and the adventures they like to take me on. Obscure movies, board games and music keep me further entertained.

Random Facts
- We have both given birth to 9+ pound babies vaginally without pain medication.
- We are best friends as well as doula partners.
- We are already planning an arranged marriage between our four year olds someday.
- All of our children know the correct pronunciation of "placenta".
- We can read each other's minds.
- Serena makes a fine art out of doodling, seriously, it's frame-worthy.
- Emily is a huge computer geek and calls her Mac Book Pro the "3rd child".
